We Help People to Create Amazing Sober Lives

My Life in a Bottle

In Dan's latest book he discusses his upbringing in South Africa and his descend into alcohol dependency. Trying to understand why people behave the way they do, he charts the story of his life, and the trials and tribulations he encountered along the way to a sober life. As is the case for the majority of problem drinkers, none of the traditional methods worked for Dan; so, he devised his own unique route to conquering alcohol addiction. With this book and his online course, he helps people understand and overcome the cause of their problem drinking. He lays bare what alcohol really is and demystify our relationship with it. The second half of the book covers the opening module of his Stop Drinking Online course, inviting you to create your own freedom from alcohol and transform your life.

Alcoholic - Never!

Telling somebody that they are an alcoholic suggests that there is something wrong with them or that something in them is broken. Only with the drug alcohol, when we get in trouble, the drinker is blamed and not the drug. That doesn’t happen with any other addictive drug.

If you say to somebody that you smoke cigarettes, do they instantly turn around and tell you that you will forever be a "smoke-aholic" and even if you do muster up the courage to stop, that you will only be a recovering smoke-aholic?

When you use an addictive drug, you will get addicted, that is the normal flow of events. People don’t just assume you must be weak willed and a pathetic individual.

Alcohol tastes awful

It tastes awful because it is a poison. Your body is not meant to ingest poison, so alcohol company mask the taste with all sorts of glamorous mixes and flavours.

That’s why, as youngsters, we start our drinking careers with ciders and other sugar loaded alcohol, so we don’t have to endure the awful taste.

Al lot of people decide early in their lives that alcohol is not for them and, they either don’t drink or drink very very little through their lives.

Others of us decide that alcohol is there to be concurred and continue until we land up being problem drinkers. We have gone past the awful taste and is now addictive and the fact the poison is making us sick, every time we drink it, doesn’t bother us anymore.

A Very Conniving drug

Alcohol is a highly addictive drug that kills thousands of people every year, not the social harmless pleasantry that the marketing companies are suggesting.

After Heroin, alcohol is the second most addictive substance on earth. If you drink this substance over many years, that does not suggest that something is wrong with you. If you drink a highly addictive drug, what do you think is going to happen.

There is nothing wrong with you. You are not weak-willed, pathetic, or broken. You drank a highly addictive substance, and guess what is the logical conclusion? You got addicted!

Poisoned

Imagine if you get the hangover, not the next morning, but a few minutes after you start drinking. Would you still do it? Alcohol abuse does not just affect you. We know all too well that drinking is never just a problem for the problem drinker alone. Alcohol hurts everyone you love; it damages every aspect of your life and the lives of those in your little bubble. It isn't until we start seeing serious health problems that we realized we have a problem.

Dan Grové

 Coach & Mentor

Hi, I’m Dan Grové. I like solving problems, helping people and learning. My mum was an organist, dad a lecturer and I grew up obsessed with trying to understand why people behave the way they do. I guess that's why I now help people understand their deepest thoughts and overcome problems.

The biggest con I see in the world today is society's misconception of alcohol. Society and the world at large is so in love with alcohol that they can't see it for what it really is.

My mission is to educate people about the secrets of alcohol, and I aim to do this by demonstrating, to you, what alcohol really is. I believe that everybody deserves to know how they can overcome their dependency on alcohol.

Through Stop Drinking LTD I’m helping people to understand the cause of their drinking and give them the tools to overcome their dependency.
